Address the following: In reference to the grab bag activity, how am I different than my classmates? How does this impact
my thinking about my role as a teacher? How can you use this knowledge to promote democracy in your classroom?
1. The grab bag activity showed that everyone has their own preferences and hobbies that they like to do. Some people liked
to hunt, whereas others prefered to just read a good book.
2. The exercise showed that I as a teacher must keep in mind that all my students will be different and like different
things. Therefore, it would be wise for me or any teacher to be willing to try different things from time to time in an effort
to try and fulfill the needs of all the students.
3. In the classroom, I'll have to keep in mind that not everyone will like or understand my style of teaching. So because
I know this, I will try and be more open to using different styles of teaching and help the students learn in a way that best
suits their educational needs.
